That car is how I want to die.

Did he ever get wipers for it? CBs are pretty common in junkyards nowadays, so a pair would probably be pretty cheap.

Not yet. He’s been pretty busy (and also broke because be blew up something like 3 ECU’s on his turbo SC300 a few months ago trying to get the VVT-i to work with all his mods), but I think the plan is to get the belts in, drill holes in the floor to bolt the seats down so that he can then actually drive it to the junkyard to go searching for parts.

He also has a CB7 sedan with a motor that is losing compression that might end up being a parts car for this at the rate things are going.

I’m about to list a PowerFC for vvti 1JZ on ebay if your friend can use it on his SC. Let me know, 7 hundo shipped.

I had one of these Accords in school. Was mocha-chino-in-your-pants brown.

My brother had one in that color as his first car. Reddish interior. He sold it to a friend, who still has it.

Post the link when you have it listed and I’ll forward it to him. I’m not sure how much money is has to put into the SC right now, but he might be interested.

Well, I’m pretty broke right now... so maybe a 24V conversion on the Power Wheels to get it doing wheelies.

one of my good friends did a 12v deep cycle car battery conversion for his son ..... stupid little car would MOVE...... surprisingly it lasted for a very long time. the gear reduction at the wheels would give it up first.

There’s actually a small, but hardcore community devoted to modding the things - there are a few guys selling custom CNC’d metal gears to replace the stock plastic ones.

they probably have some conversions too, to get some real deal tires on there.

takes a good little bit of help to get those tired old toys to support full grown guys, that weigh around 4 times what the toy was designed to carry.

I was actually surprised when my wife got in it and managed to drive it around a bit (slowly). Real tires would help a ton even without any extra power. Those plastic tires have no traction even on dirt in my yard.

its surprising to watch all the parts on an old worn out one flex like crazy, but keep on working just fine.

can only imagine the technical engineer guy watching the hacked up ones, with car batteries, and big ol’ fat boys riding them ...... yelling “NO, stopp....theyre not designed for ANY of THAT.......”
